TASTE is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our Commissary Kitchen team. This role is essential to ensuring the consistency, quality, and efficiency of our prepared food offerings for retail locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, process, package, and stock food products according to established standards
Follow daily prep lists and recipe guidelines with precision
Use basic knife skills and kitchen tools to complete prep tasks efficiently
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen environment
Assist in kitchen restocking, deep cleaning, and organization
Work collaboratively with fellow associates to meet daily production goals
Qualifications:
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team attitude
Willingness to complete all required training (orientation, food safety, product knowledge)
Culinary/kitchen experience is preferred but not required
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions
Comfortable performing basic math (weights, measurements, conversions)
Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills in a kitchen setting
Ability to read and understand simple written documents in English
Effective verbal communication in small group or one-on-one settings
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and turn throughout the shift
Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle both raw and cooked food
Must be able to reach with hands and arms between 6–72 inches
Ability to taste, smell, and hear at both close and long distances
Must be able to lift and move at least 30 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally
Must be 18 years of age
Must have reliable transportation
