Taste of Ethiopia Detroit; a proudly Ethiopian, family-owned restaurant with over 20 years of culinary tradition, is expanding into the streets. As we launch our summer food truck season, we’re looking for a dependable, energetic, and passionate individual to join our mobile kitchen team as a Food Truck Driver & Inside Operator.

For two decades, Taste of Ethiopia has served authentic, flavorful dishes to the Metro Detroit community from our Southfield home. Our food truck brings the heart of Ethiopia directly to local festivals, neighborhoods, and events, and we’re looking for someone excited to be part of that journey.
Position Overview:
As a Food Truck Driver & Inside Operator, you’ll help transport and operate the truck, prepare and serve traditional Ethiopian dishes, and deliver excellent customer service wherever we go.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely drive the food truck to scheduled locations and events
- Set up and operate the truck kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient service flow
- Prepare and serve menu items while maintaining a clean and organized cooking space
- Interact warmly with customers and handle payments using our POS system
- Assist with stocking, cleaning, and end-of-day duties
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required)
- Kitchen or food prep experience preferred
- Food and safety certified (Preferred)
- Fast learner with a genuine interest in Ethiopian cuisine and culture
- Friendly, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and work on your feet during shifts
