Chef/Kitchen Manager

Taste Italian Kitchen is seeking an experienced Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operation at our new location in Chelsea, Alabama.

This is an opportunity to join Taste's opening leadership team and establish a kitchen culture built around consistency, quality, organization and teamwork. The Chef/Kitchen Manager will lead all back-of-house operations and be responsible for executing Taste's menu and culinary standards while developing a strong kitchen team.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5 years of culinary or kitchen leadership experience in a full-service restaurant environment
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation and execution
• Proven ability to recruit, train, lead and develop BOH teams
• Strong understanding of food cost, inventory, ordering, waste management and labor
• High standards for food quality, consistency, sanitation and kitchen organization
• Ability to execute established recipes and systems consistently at volume
• Experience opening a restaurant or building a kitchen team is a plus
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A passion for hospitality, food and developing great teams

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the opening and ongoing operation of the Taste Chelsea kitchen
• Recruit, train and develop the back-of-house team
• Ensure consistent execution of Taste recipes, presentation and culinary standards
• Oversee food preparation, production and kitchen workflow
• Maintain food safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards
• Manage food cost, inventory, ordering, waste and BOH labor
• Establish systems that support consistency, efficiency and accountability
• Partner closely with the General Manager and FOH leadership
• Coach and develop Assistant BOH Managers and kitchen team members
• Maintain a positive, professional and team-oriented kitchen culture

Selected candidates must be available to complete approximately three weeks of training at Taste Italian Kitchen in Ridgeland, Mississippi prior to the Chelsea opening.

Pay: $75,000–$85,000 per year
