The Role
The Environmental Technician is a field-based, individual contributor role supporting Tasman’s environmental remediation and oil & gas projects. This position assists with site decommissioning, sampling, environmental monitoring, and equipment operation while adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards.
This role is ideal for early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in environmental fieldwork, remediation activities, and compliance-driven projects. The Technician operates under the direction of Project Managers and senior staff while building foundational technical skills within Tasman’s field operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Field Operations & Environmental Support
- Conduct soil, groundwater, surface water, and air sampling
- Perform well development and groundwater sampling
- Operate and maintain field monitoring and sampling equipment
- Assist with excavation oversight and remediation activities
- Handle waste materials and perform decontamination procedures
- Conduct free product removal as required
- Support asbestos surveys, abatement, and waste management activities
- Assist other field personnel to support overall project execution
Data Collection & Documentation
- Collect accurate environmental data for analysis and reporting
- Prepare clear, concise field notes, logs, and documentation
- Support preparation of reports and environmental assessments
- Ensure compliance documentation is completed and submitted properly
Safety & Compliance
- Complete Tasman U Basic Field Training and required EHS programs
- Follow Tasman health & safety procedures, SOPs, and regulatory standards
- Use required PPE at all times
- Communicate field issues or deviations to senior staff
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field (or relevant technical diploma)
- 0–3 years of experience in environmental fieldwork, remediation, lab analysis, or related work
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Clear verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work safely on active construction and remediation sites
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to follow direction and ask questions to grow technical skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
- Environmental remediation or oil & gas experience
- Additional field certifications or health & safety training
- Familiarity with blueprints and compliance protocols
Work Environment
This position operates 100% in the field and includes:
Field Conditions:
- Outdoor work in heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow
- Uneven terrain and active construction environments
- Use of PPE and field monitoring equipment
- Exposure to environmental hazards and contaminated media
Physical Requirements:
- Medium physical effort (up to 50 pounds)
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and equipment use
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday – Friday
- Flexibility required based on field schedules
- Occasional overtime depending on project needs
Travel
- Regular travel to local and regional project sites
- Typically within a 2-hour radius of Wheat Ridge, CO
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical diploma
- 0–3 years experience in an environmental-focused industry
Work Authorization & Screening
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Qualifications:Required Education:
- Relevant technical diploma or university degree (optional) with 0–1 years of direct work experience in an environmental-focused industry.
Preferred Education:
- Additional field certifications or training in environmental sampling and health & safety.
Required Experience:
- Experience in environmental fieldwork, including equipment operation and monitoring practices.

Salary : $32 - $36
