Order Fulfillment Clerk

Position Summary
The Order Fulfillment Clerk is responsible for executing order-processing and shipping tasks in the logistics/distribution center, supporting Tarter’s commitment to fast lead-times, high quality, and retailer satisfaction. The ideal candidate thrives in an office environment, is detail-oriented with order accuracy, and can multitask.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and review customer / retailer orders in the order management or warehouse management system,
- Generate fuel cards for drivers. Track monthly fuel reports, as well as reporting the DOE national average fuel price.
- Generate packing slips, shipping labels and required documentation in Tarter’s distribution system; ensure accuracy of order contents, correct shipping method, scheduling appointments, and timely carrier pickup.
- Reporting overages, shortages, and damages to accounting in real time to ensure accurate invoices to customers.
- Maintain accurate data entry in warehouse/order system: update order status, track shipments, and enter routes in TMW system.
- Work closely with sales, customer experience, and order fulfillment to service customers’ needs and expectations.
- Working with professional drivers to assist them when issues arise during the route, to ensure no disruptions in the delivery process.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in logistics operations: suggest process enhancements, assist in reducing errors, improving turnaround times, and enhancing customer (retailer) satisfaction.
- Adhere to company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards within the distribution/warehouse facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or further education in logistics/supply chain preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, shipping/receiving or manufacturing logistics environment preferred — experience in scheduling appointments is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP/order systems, or strong aptitude to learn such systems.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in order processing, and ability to maintain workload under time pressure.
- Good basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Outlook, warehouse software).
- Good communication skills (both with internal teams and carriers/third-party logistics providers).
- Ability to work in hybrid office setting, which will include splitting time onsite/remote, including occasional overtime during peak shipping periods.

Work Environment
- Located at one of Tarter’s manufacturing/distribution sites (Kentucky or Utah) in a warehouse/distribution center environment.
- Regular weekday schedule with the possibility of overtime in peak shipping seasons; early morning or evening shifts may apply depending on shipping cycles.
