Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist them with seating arrangements, utilizing reservation systems such as OpenTable when applicable.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and fulfilled.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities through effective suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and adhering to food safety protocols.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues that may arise during service.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments, and manage basic math calculations for bills using POS systems.
- Provide excellent guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, and food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations.
- Contribute to a lively atmosphere by engaging with guests in a friendly manner, especially in nightclub or bar settings when applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or upscale establishments.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking efficiently.
- Experience with reservation platforms like OpenTable is a plus.
- Basic math skills for cashiering and cash handling responsibilities.
- Previous host/hostess or serving experience is highly desirable; bartending or nightclub experience is a bonus.
