Job Description Summary: Salary: $18.18 - $27.28 per hour The Recreation Seasonal Assistant will work closely with Recreation and Operations staff to collect data for asset management documentation. The position will also have the opportunity to aid in the day-to-day management and of existing recreational programs and facilities as well as offer input into further improving these programs. Job Description Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Assist Landscape Architect Manager with TRWD recreation asset / inventory management and conditions assessment Use of GIS software and applications including Field Maps for asset geolocation (no experience necessary) Conduct field work to monitor the maintenance needs of the recreational amenities across TRWD properties Assist in grant research for future recreational funding Coordinate with communications team for keeping recreation social media up to date Assist recreation and events personnel with recreation programs such as geocaching, Adopt-A-Trail, Adopt-A-Drain, Trash Bash, Fly Fest, etc. Aids in reaching goals and work plans for the recreation department Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service Perform administrative tasks such as copying, filing, organizing events supplies and marketing materials Perform other duties as required Required Experience: Less than six (6) months of related experience Able to be both self-directed/work alone and be contributing member of a group Able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment Able to work some evenings and weekends Must be available to work Fort Worth Fourth and other events Desired Experience: Basic knowledge of recreation trails, programs, and activities Ability to meet and exceed District and staff goals Experience or willingness to learn GIS, Field Maps, or similar programs Deep interest in outdoor recreational pursuits and being a productive part of a team Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Must have good oral communication skills Experience using Microsoft Office Required Education/Certification/License: Competitive applicants for this position can be pursuing a bachelor’s degree and/or have relevant experience in outdoor recreation, recreation management, natural resource management, parks and recreation, park planning, recreation administration, leisure administration, or related field Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
