Assistant III, Instructional Support - Music 494172 Northwest Campus, Texas, United States Instructional Support PT - Regular Title: Assistant III, Instructional Support - Music Department: NW Arts & Humanities Admin Campus Location: Northwest Campus Employee Classification: ISP - Instructional Sup Position Type: PT - Regular Grant Funded: No Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $24.28 Work Hours: Varies based on program and department schedule Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work Special Instructions to Applicant: This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week Job Summary: Reporting to the assigned campus leader, the Instructional Associate is responsible for performing instructional tasks in a laboratory setting and assisting students through tutoring and teaching. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Performance Requirements* ⦁ Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts ⦁ Maintains and checks out to students, equipment used for field production ⦁ Maintains software on lab computers and liaises with Academic Computing for lab workstations ⦁ Provides secretarial duties for program bids and purchase orders, program recordkeeping for files and advisory committee minutes ⦁ Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts ⦁ Researches equipment for purchases ⦁ Delegates work duties to work-study student assistants ⦁ Previews, orders, and maintains inventories of equipment, instructional materials and supplies ⦁ Plans, prepares, develops, and maintains various teaching aids or materials Service Excellence ⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite ⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) ⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College Supervision Works under the general supervision of the assigned campus leader *Performs Other Related Tasks as Required The duties listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with courses in the specialized field and two (2) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience Preferred Qualifications: ⦁ At least two (2) years’ working experience in a music education setting ⦁ At least two (2) academic semesters of experience with instrument maintenance, classroom setup, and managing equipment ⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience creating promotional content, involving video editing or graphic design for educational or artistic purposes ⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience participating in outreach or recruitment events targeting community engagement ⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience coordinating multiple music-related events involving logistics and inter-departmental communication, such as concerts, workshops, orientations ⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience using notation software (e.g., Finale, Sibelius) and DAWs (e.g., Logic Pro, Pro Tools) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ⦁ Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships including strong listening, verbal, and written communication ⦁ Skilled using music technology, computer applications, and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
