Job Summary
The General Manager (GM) of NECO Petroleum provides strategic and operational leadership for TMG’s petroleum divisions — NECO Distribution LLC. This role ensures operational excellence across all aspects of the business, including fuel logistics, supply management, fleet operations, safety, compliance, customer experience, and profitability. The GM serves as a bridge between operations, business development, and customer experience, fostering partnerships with Tribal Nations, vendors, and industry partners while driving sustainable growth consistent with TMG’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, People and Culture
- Build and sustain a high-performance value-driven culture of teamwork and accountability in accordance with the company’s core values.
- Partner with People Operations and your internal safety area to recruit, develop and retained skilled drivers and team members that meet or exceed our values.
- Champion continuous learning and development with your teams and leaders.
- Champion a safety-first culture in accordance with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and environmental standards.
- Oversee driver training, certification and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure operational readiness for audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Deliver TMG’s mission and values into actionable operational goals for NECO Petroleum.
- With Director of Petroleum oversee daily operations including dispatch, routing, delivery procedures, maintenance and terminal logistics.
- Manage both in-house fleet operations and 3rd party trucking partners with Director of Petroleum ensuring efficient, safe and reliable service delivery.
- Develop and execute supply strategies that ensure reliable fuel procurement and delivery.
- Partner cross-functionally with Business Development, Customer Experience, Accounting/Finance, People Operations, Technology, Compliance, Loss Prevention and Maintenance to support growth and operational alignment.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships and business streams aligned with NECO’s strategic decision.
Financial and Business Management
- Accountable for NECO Petroleum’s full profit and loss statement.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets and capital budgets – monitor performance against goal and complete critiques as necessary.
- Ensure cost controls, margin optimization and effective resource allocation.
- Support system modernization with company’s ERP and Dispatch Software Solution.
- Strengthen Supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective sourcing and uninterrupted supply.
Customer Experience and Relationship building
- Work closely with Customer Experience and Business Development teams to build strong relationships with Tribal Nations and their partners.
- Foster a proactive approach to customer communication, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction across all areas.
- Work closely with Business Development at building strong relationships with all of NECO’s supply partners and vendors nationally.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Petroleum Management, Transportation, or a related field — or equivalent experience with progressive leadership in petroleum, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Proven success managing P&L, multi-site operations, and third-party logistics providers.
- Experience in supply management, vendor partnerships, and customer relationship development.
- Familiarity with petroleum regulations, DOT compliance, and ERP/fleet management systems.
- Familiarity with multi-state distribution of petroleum products and general licensing requirements.

- Exposure to outdoor weather, fuel odors, and moderate noise.
