JOB SUMMARY:
The Convenience Store Operations Manager is responsible for leading the overall operations, performance, and customer experience of Bear’s Den 101. This role oversees daily store execution, team leadership, training, product sales and marketing initiatives, expense management, operational standards, and compliance with company expectations. The Operations Manager ensures the location operates efficiently, delivers exceptional customer service, and supports TMG’s mission of delivering excellence in the markets we serve.

Primary Responsibilities
- Promote alignment across TMG brands by maintaining strong knowledge of products, services, promotions, and customer expectations.
- Execute product sales and marketing plans according to established timelines and communicate promptly with the Assistant General Manager when plans are at risk or require adjustment.
- Recruit, develop, support, and retain managers, supervisors, and associates who align with TMG’s culture, service standards, goals, and objectives.
- Manage controllable expenses, monitor key performance indicators, and support the location in achieving revenue and net income goals according to budget.
- Ensure employees are properly trained, coached, and supported to perform their roles safely, effectively, and in alignment with company policies and brand standards.
- Monitor customer service performance and proactively resolve service concerns, shortfalls, or opportunities to support customer satisfaction goals.
- Drive participation in the Rewards program and support initiatives that increase average ticket per transaction.
- Ensure the location consistently meets brand standards, operational requirements, audit expectations, safety standards, and inspection requirements.
- Communicate company goals clearly to team members and ensure each employee understands their role in supporting store success.
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports at least annually and maintain regular communication to support accountability, development, and execution of company goals.
- Maintain a positive, professional image and customer-focused environment that reflects the culture and reputation of TMG.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least a two-year degree in Business Management from an accredited college or university, and/or equivalent convenience store management experience.
- Three to five years of successful management experience, or advancement through three levels of career progression with demonstrated leadership growth and business results.
- Knowledge of general safety and sanitation regulations for food and beverage operations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with large groups and across all levels of the team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as various POS systems.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior convenience store, retail fuel, food service, or multi-unit retail leadership experience.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., lift and stock merchandise, and stand for periods up to 8 hours.
- Must have the physical ability to perform the duties of frontline associates as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and move throughout the convenience store environment.
- May be exposed to fuel odors, food service areas, cleaning products, moderate noise, and changing indoor or outdoor conditions.
