Precious Metal Buyer
Tapper’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry is actively seeking a Full-time Precious Metal Buyer for our location in Milford. We are looking for a professional, organized, and guest-focused individual to join our team as a Precious Metal Buyer. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone with strong customer service skills and attention to detail. Industry experience is not required—we will provide thorough training for the right candidate.
In this position, you will work directly with guests to evaluate and purchase gold, silver, and other precious metals. You will also take ownership of store presentation and daily operations to ensure an exceptional and professional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests with warmth and professionalism; guide them through the gold-buying process
- Evaluate precious metal items using tools and training provided
- Accurately document and process purchases in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
- Organize and track all supplies and materials related to daily operations
- Perform store opening and closing procedures with precision and accountability
- Follow all legal and ethical buying guidelines to ensure transparency and trust
Qualifications
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills
- Friendly, trustworthy, and customer-focused
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable with basic computer systems and handling transactions
- Ability to work independently and manage a small store location
- Previous precious metals buying, retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to provide a letter of recommendation and pass a state and federal criminal, motor vehicle, and financial/credit background investigation to finalize employment
- Must be able to work scheduled shifts consistently and punctually
- First 1-2 weeks of training will be conducted at our West Bloomfield office
