As a startup building new value into experiences and memories, we’re reimagining social apps for people who want to be social in the world — less time scrolling, more time living. Inspired by cassette and VHS tapes, the original DIY mobile media technology, we’re putting you in control of your entertainment in a way that feels tangible, memorable and rooted in the real world. 

We’re looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed Editorial Coordinator to help shape the voice of Tape — a platform that curates the best experiences in culture. In this hybrid creative-operational role, you’ll be responsible for researching and publishing content that keeps our app and social channels fresh, timely, and irresistible.

You’ll work across editorial programming, cultural research, and social storytelling — ensuring every listing, post, and partnership meets our brand standards and performance goals. This is a foundational role for a highly organized, aesthetically driven candidate with a strong sense of what makes something Tape-worthy.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate Editorial Programming: Own daily publishing workflows in the CMS, managing timelines, QA, and content accuracy.
• Curate Cultural Moments: Research and pitch standout events, exhibitions, shows, and openings that align with our content pillars.
• Translate Content for Social: Adapt editorial into social-native formats, experiment with cadence and formats, and drive growth across channels.
• Field Reporting & Experience Capture: Attend key happenings and capture authentic, on-brand photo and video content for Tape and social.
• Creator & Contributor Management: Support a growing network of contributing editors, ensuring quality, consistency, and accuracy in listings.
• Inbound PR & Partner Management: Liaise with PR contacts and cultural partners, vetting inbound pitches for potential inclusion.
• Optimize with Data: Use performance insights to improve what we surface, when we publish, and how we grow engagement.

What You Bring

• 1 years experience in editorial, production, or content operations (agency, media, startup, or PR background preferred)
• Hands-on familiarity with CMS tools and digital publishing workflows
• Cultural fluency across arts, food, nightlife, design, fashion, and events
• A “finder” mentality — curious, persistent, and tuned into what’s new in Los Angeles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A strong visual POV and ability to spot content that feels fresh and platform-appropriate
• Data-minded approach to testing, optimizing, and iterating content
• Dependability, initiative, and the ability to juggle moving parts in a fast-paced environment
• A collaborative spirit with a get-it-done attitude and zero ego

Contract

Independent Contractor working remotely with estimated monthly rate is $3,000-4,000 USD which will vary based on job-related factors, including but not limited to experience and qualifications.
