Tiwa Babies Home Visitor

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Tiwa Babies Home Visitor to join our team in providing vital support and care to vulnerable children and families. In this role, you will serve as a key advocate for child welfare, working closely with families, social services, and community partners to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of children in our care. Duties

Recruits eligible families for home visiting programs and maintains caseload.

Provides home-based services including parent and child interaction activities to families.

Conducts family assessments to determine needs for case management. Discusses

emotional and social support, child developmental screenings and parenting classes with

participants. Refers to outside agencies where appropriate.

Assists families with individual goals plans, families’ needs, and developmental stage of

baby.

Work with families to promote positive parent-child relationships, support healthy growth

and development, enhance problem-solving skills and improves support systems.

Effectively work with families and individuals of diverse backgrounds (including teen

parents; families with mental health, substance abuse, or domestic violence concerns,

families experiencing poverty).

Connect families with community resources and support self-advocacy across systems.

Ability to serve in the clients’ best interest, even under high stress and/or emergency situations.

Encourage and facilitate family participation in program and community activities.

Establish and maintain professional boundaries.

Maintain accurate, legible, timely documentation detailing contact and progress of families.

Complete on-going evaluation documentation and assessments for each family in

accordance with Healthy Families standards and requirements.

Collects data from participants.

Keeps in contact with enrolled participants by home visits, phone calls and text.

Utilizes approved core curriculum and each family’s home environment and goals to

provide developmental activities at each visit.

Builds a collaborative partnership with parents by providing an attitude of acceptance that

supports and respects each parent’s gender, family culture, language, ethnicity and child

rearing practices.

Increases the family’s knowledge and understanding of the physical, emotional, school

readiness and intellectual development of their child and supports parenting efforts as

provided through approved curriculum.

Maintains accurate participant files to include: daily reports, written documentation,

anecdotal observations, child assessments and other related information.

Resolves routine administrative problems and answers inquiries concerning activities and

operations of department.

Presents case material and requests information from other center staff during weekly

meetings.

Collaborates and coordinates services with other community agencies.

Represents and advocates for families participating in the program.

Provides playgroup activities to children and families.

Assists with community events and meetings.

Publishes and distributes newsletter, articles and updates material on web site.

Prepares or assists with the preparation of reports

Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay: $18.62 - $24.29 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
