Medical Assistant (Entry-Level & Experienced Welcome)
Taos Behavioral Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient behavioral health team. This role is ideal for both entry-level candidates looking to start a healthcare career and experienced Medical Assistants seeking a supportive, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with clinical and administrative patient care
- Take vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.)
- Administer injections and assist with specimen collection
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms
- Perform pre-visit planning and chart review
- Respond to medication refill requests
- Schedule appointments and communicate with patients
- Coordinate with pharmacies, labs, insurance, and providers
- Document accurately in the EMR
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant certification (preferred, not required)
- Healthcare or administrative experience (preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm in sensitive situations
Schedule
- Full-time
Hourly Wage
$17.00 – $23.00 per hour (DOE)
Higher starting pay available for experienced and certified candidates
