What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Medical Associates of Northern New Mexico?
Medical Associates of Northern New Mexico is searching for a Medical Assistant to join our team.
This position will work with our Endocrinologist in a fast-paced setting. Our ideal candidate has a high level of attention-to-detail, compassionate care towards patients, and able to work quickly seeing 2 patients an hour.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointment in a timely manner.
- Prep charts to assure that all information required for patient visit is available for the provider.
- Room patients including verifying patient information and taking vital signs
- Assist/accompany the physician during exams and medical procedures, including thyroid biopsies.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Perform basic laboratory tests.
- Transmit prescription refills
- Administer vaccinations
- Operate electrocardiogram (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests
- Clean and sterilize instruments, following OSHA safety protocol, in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience in a medical office
- Compassionate demeanor
- Able to work in a fast-paced setting

Our office is a multi-specialty, out-patient clinic employing 12-15 providers. We serve our patients in Primary Care, Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Urgent Care. Our practice includes a Walk In Clinic and Ultrasound Lab. MANNM is a physician-owned practice, and we value having a supportive, dedicated team who care for our patients and each other.
