We work closely with our clients to deliver practical solutions — whether through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation in state and federal courts throughout Massachusetts.
Position Summary
We are seeking an Associate to do both Civil Litigation and to draft and review contracts for our construction, architect and engineer clients.
As a Civil Litigation Attorney at Tanowitz Law Office, P.C., you will handle cases from intake through resolution. You will work closely with clients, develop case strategies, and advocate in court and alternative dispute resolution forums.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Conduct legal research and draft persuasive motions, memoranda, and briefs
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Evaluate claims and provide practical, cost‑effective legal advice
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies aligned with client goals
- Prepare exhibits, trial binders, and hearing materials
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- File documents in state and federal courts (including e‑filing)
- Support attorneys during trial preparation, arbitration, and mediation
- J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
- Admission to the Massachusetts Bar (in good standing with no discipline)
- 2–4 years of civil litigation experience
- Understanding of Massachusetts civil procedure
- Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines with minimal supervision
