Qualifications

Excellent public relations skills. Pleasant professional demeanor when dealing with the public, even irate or abusive individuals. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with co-workers, the hospital and medical staff as well as with patients, families, and third-party payers.

Three years of previous experience relevant to position (i.e. registration, scheduling, utilization review in healthcare).

Previous experience or knowledge with Diagnostic Imaging preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Relevant training or education may be considered as experience. Management and or experience in healthcare finance or revenue cycle preferred but not required.

Ability to make independent decisions, displaying emotional maturity and using sound judgment.

Ability to comprehend and apply a large variety of operating procedures.

Proven ability to act as a positive influence in a leadership role and to effectively work with others at all levels within and outside the organization.

Ability to interact and work well as a part of a team-oriented environment.

Ability to organize maximum time utilization and smooth patient flow.

Proficient use of computer equipment.

Ability to work effectively in high stress situations.

Ability to work in fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Ability to read and write legibly with spelling accuracy.

Functions

Area of Responsibilities

Organizes and performs administrative support functions for the department of Radiology to include receptionist duties and answering the phone, maintaining knowledge and skill proficiency to assume front line registration duties as needed.

Responsible for the Radiology Imaging Library. ensures timely processing of records requests.

Ensures accuracy and completeness of daily workflow and output through monitoring statistical reporting to include assigned area specific volumes, schedules, no-show reports, wait times, quality reports, individual staff KPI's and providing consistent feedback to direct reports, towards improvement.

Acts as a liaison to promote open communication and development of positive relations between the employee and other team members, other departments, customers and management.

Promote teamwork. Empowers teams and or individuals to meet their potential in day-to-day operations.

Provides guidance, positive feedback as well as constructive criticism through direct engagement with staff, on a day-to-day basis, within the assigned area. This includes monthly one on one meetings with staff regarding ongoing performance.

Reinforce communication from the Director or designee as well as any information relevant to pertinent departmental operations, hospital activities etc. to departmental employees on a day-to-day basis via huddles, visual boards, email and other communication methods.

Communicates pertinent departmental activities to Manager, Director and other departments as necessary. Make sure Director or designee are informed of any unusual and or significant issues that affect patient satisfaction, timeliness of services or reimbursement or general patient flow within assigned area.

Supports quality and efficiency improvement efforts through facilitation completion of specific action items and standard implementation as directed by Radiology leadership, involving direct reports appropriately.

Establishes and contributes to maintaining a high level of employee morale through positive engagement and recognition of goal attainment, accomplishments or other high performing behavior. Communicates any supporting data needed for staff recognition programs, to Manager as directed.

Assist Director with feedback relevant to completion and delivery of annual performance appraisals.

Responsible for adequate staffing and coverage in the assigned area, on a day-to-day basis, completing, revising and communicating schedules to staff members. Approves PTO and other requests, monitors staff attendance to ensure current reporting and management.

Monitors all staff performance and proactively engages Manager or Director regarding any recommended progressive disciplinary action that may be necessary.

Provides timekeeper duties.

In concert with the Director, recommends revisions in staffing plans. Additionally, drive interviews and selection process for approved open positions.

Perform other tasks as assigned.

Compliance Statement

Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
