Sales Representative – Fuel Systems Construction & Testing/Maintenance
Location: Temecula, CA (Hybrid)
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt (Salary Commission)
Territory: San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Western Riverside, and Southern San Bernardino Counties (balance of California as opportunites arise)
Reports To: CEO
About the Role:
Tank Specialists of California (TSOC) is seeking a driven, consultative Sales Representative to grow our Construction and Testing & Maintenance (T&M) / Environmental Compliance divisions across Southern California.
This is not an order-taking role. You will own a territory, build a pipeline, and close business across two divisions — a $25M Construction Division that handles fuel system projects from $50K to $4M , and a T&M / Environmental Compliance Division we are scaling from $2M to $4M over the next 2–3 years.
We are looking for someone who can sell technical services to facility owners, municipalities, public works, aviation, and industrial clients — and who wants uncapped earning potential tied to real growth.
This role is hybrid, based out of our Temecula office, with regular field activity across the territory.
Key Responsibilities Sales Execution & Pipeline Ownership:
- Identify and pursue new business in both the Construction and T&M / Environmental Compliance divisions
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of prospects across the assigned territory
- Conduct face-to-face client meetings, job walks, and facility assessments
- Develop and deliver persuasive sales proposals and close new contracts
- Meet or exceed annual sales targets across both divisions
Client Relationships & Account Growth:
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with new and existing customers
- Expand wallet share with house accounts through proactive account management and cross-selling
- Represent TSOC professionally at industry events, associations, and networking opportunities
Systems, Reporting & CRM:
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline and account activity in Monday CRM
- Provide timely sales reporting to the CEO and leadership
- Support the ongoing implementation and adoption of Monday CRM across the sales function
Marketing & Brand Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact with TSOC's marketing contractor (Duct Tape Marketing)
- Coordinate marketing programs, campaigns, and collateral with the CEO
- Provide field-level input to shape messaging, targeting, and lead-generation efforts
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Partner with Project Management, T&M, and Operations teams to ensure seamless project execution and client handoff
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on change orders and contract amendments
- Stay current on California regulations (SWRCB, AQMD, CARB), fuel system technology, and compliance requirements
Qualifications Required:
- Proven outside sales experience (3 years), ideally in construction, industrial, mechanical, environmental, or technical services
- Strong consultative sales skills and the ability to sell technical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; willingness and ability to learn and operate within Monday CRM
- Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable for pipeline and results
- Valid CA Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background checks for secured/government facilities
Preferred:
- Experience selling in fuel systems, petroleum, environmental compliance, fire protection, or related regulated industries
- Familiarity with public works, prevailing wage, and government bidding processes
- Existing network of facility owners, contractors, municipal, aviation, or industrial clients in Southern California
- Experience selling recurring service agreements or maintenance contracts

Commission — Construction Division (marginal tier, based on annual booked contract revenue):
- $1 – $4,000,000: 1.0%
- $4,000,001 – $8,000,000: 2.0%

- $750,001 – $1,500,000: 6.0%
- $1,500,001 and above: 8.0%
- Paid monthly on collected revenue
Realistic Total Compensation Scenarios:
- Baseline (Year 1): ~$147,000
- Strong performance (Year 1–2): ~$252,000
- Exceptional performance (Year 2 ): $400,000
Additional Benefits:

- Paid time off and paid holidays

What Success Looks Like:
- A full, well-qualified pipeline in Monday CRM, updated weekly
- Consistent new business wins across both Construction and T&M divisions
- T&M division growth measurably accelerated toward the $2M–$3M goal
- Strong client relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
- Marketing programs executed and tied to measurable lead flow

- Two divisions with significant runway — you are not fighting for scraps
- Uncapped earning potential with realistic six-figure commissions
- Direct access to the CEO and leadership
