A healthcare network in New York is currently seeking a licensed Physician to join their growing Neurology team in Nassau County as a Neurohospitalist. About the Opportunity:Schedule: 7 days on/7 days offHours: 37.5 hours per weekSetting: InpatientResponsibilities:Rapidly evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients admitted through the Emergency Department or transferred from other services with time-sensitive neurological emergencies.Provide immediate response for Stroke Alerts, evaluate patients for acute interventions, and manage stroke care protocols, often collaborating with the Vascular Neurology and Neurosurgery teams.Provide expert consultation to other services for patients with primary medical or surgical problems who develop neurological conditions.Order, interpret, and, when necessary, perform diagnostic procedures such as Lumbar Puncture (LP).Co-manage patients with critical neurological illnesses in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) alongside Neurocritical Care or Medical Critical Care teams.Lead discharge planning to ensure a safe and effective transition of care from the hospital to post-acute settings or outpatient follow-up with the patient's primary neurologist.Provide clinical supervision and teaching to Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students rotating through the neurology service. This may include didactic teaching, case-based discussions, and bedside rounds.Qualifications:M.D. Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of MedicineCompletion of Medical Residency with Board CertificationCurrently licensed as a physician in the State of New YorkBoard Certified in Neurology
