Primary Care EPIC Biller (Remote/in person)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Billing Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for managing charge and insurance work queues, supporting patient account resolution, and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has experience with EPIC billing workflows and performs well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process patient charge work queues (WQ) accurately within EPIC
- Perform accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up with insurance payers to ensure timely reimbursement
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, and discrepancies
- Manage patient account balances, including inbound and outbound communications
- Participate in phone rotation to assist with incoming calls and patient inquiries
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of billing activities
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and organizational policies
- Provide high-quality customer service to patients, providers, and internal teams
Additional Responsibilities
- Cross-train as a backup Deposit Specialist to support payment posting and deposit functions
- Provide on-site coverage for deposit responsibilities as needed (advance notice provided whenever possible)
Qualifications
- Prior medical billing experience required; EPIC experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of insurance claims processing, A/R follow-up, and denial management
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Willingness and ability to report on-site when coverage is required
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Starting at $20/hour, commensurate with experience
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
