The way office space works and the industry behind it is getting completely flipped on its head right now. We are in the middle of a MAJOR disruption driven by two things:
We’re a small, experienced team - currently we have 15 full time employees, and you would be joining as the 6th engineer including the CTO. Expect a fast-paced environment where you’ll have significant engineering ownership plus the opportunity to impact things outside of engineering like product, design, strategy, etc. You will report directly to the CTO, who is highly technical (ex-Google) and led two previous YC companies before Tandem.

What we’re looking for
CODING SKILLS - You must have the technical chops to bring big ideas to life:
3-8 years of full time engineering experience Experience at a VC-backed startup, ideally at a very early stage (React and Typescript experience required. Node JS/Next JS experience is a plus (we use Next JS) Experience writing full-stack web code - you should be comfortable writing front end React code powered by and interacting with back-end server code, database models, and services AI experience is a big plus, although not a requirement (we use AI for throughout our service - for matching, image analysis and optimization, lighting-fast operations, etc)

This is a hybrid role open to anyone in the SF Bay area- we work out of our office in Soma 3 days per week.

- Hybrid and remote work are here to stay. The five-days-in-the-office workweek is going away forever for many, many, many jobs.

- Ability to communicate clearly about product requirements and tradeoffs is a must.
- Experience owning features end to end

- Typescript/React/NextJS front end & NextJS/tRPC backend
- AI: OpenAI, Gemini, Replicate AI, Vercel AI API, etc
- Postgres Database (with Drizzle ORM)
- Hosted on Vercel

Hybrid Role

Salary : $130,000 - $165,000
