Housekeeper

Position Summary

The Housekeeper insures that the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times for a safe and healthful environment. 

Job Responsibilities

1. Follows specific cleaning and service instructions as outlined by the Director of Environmental Services.
2. Follows cleaning procedures in a safe manner.
3. Completes all assignments scheduled in each unit and accepts reassignment to other units as directed.
4. Gives an assigned unit the attention needed to provide a sanitary, odor free, orderly environment for all concerns.

1. Reports any observed area in poor repair to supervisor.

1. Checks supply levels and notifies supervisor of upcoming needs.
2. Operates and maintains equipment in good working condition and returns it to proper location after use.
3. Follows all Safety Data Sheet instructions (SDS) and infection control practices according to facility policies and procedures.
4. Follows all policies and procedures related to confidentiality and treats all residents with dignity and respect.
5. Fosters good relationships and communications with all employees, residents, representatives and visitors.
6. Performs all other duties as requested. 

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to interact with the age and culture of the residents served. 
• Foster effective working relationships with peers.
• Must have patience, a positive attitude, as well as the willingness to interact with difficult residents and representatives. 
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.

Educational, Licensure and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, squat and bend.

• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. 
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light to moderate weights, up to 30 pounds.
