Job TitleFBS Assistant Director Agency Texas A&M University Department Finance - College of Veterinary Medicine Proposed Minimum SalaryCommensurate Job LocationCollege Station, Texas Job TypeStaff Job Description A Glimpse of the Job The FBS Assistant Director, under general direction, assists the Director in all aspects of Texas A&M Centralized Finance and Business Services departmental operations and maintains responsibility for a major functional unit(s) within a department. Essential Duties/Tasks Internal Control Activities Participates in planning, directing, and coordinating operational or procedural matters to meet department goals and objectives Monitors compliance with all unit, department, University, and government standards, policies, and procedures Handles special projects as assigned by the Director Reporting and Analysis Develops reports, analyses, and surveys as requested by Director Participates in developing departmental strategic plans based on department goals Leadership and Planning Assists Director in planning and budgeting for department Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates programs Provides leadership for department along with and in absence of the Director Handles special projects as assigned by the Director Provides supervision and guidance to a team or departmental sub-unit(s) Departmental Duties Develops and implements strategic planning specific to financial organization within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, including the goal of maintaining at least 3 months of income to continue operations in the event of a major economic downturn Oversees the financial functionalities of the Hospital’s Electrician Medical Records System (EMR) including revenue reconciliation of the Hospital’s EMR with the University accounting system (FAMIS) Provides regular financial reports, analyses, and projections as needed to the Hospital Board and College Leadership Financial liaison and contact for Foundation fund management Participates in assigned committees What You Need to Know Salary: Commensurate Special Instructions: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended.
