What We Want The Assistant Athletics Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Athletics Internal Operations Office and its continual growth as a service to the Athletics Department. Additionally, the Assistant Athletics Director will assist the Associate Athletics Director with financial matters for the Athletics Department. You may upload them on the application under the CV/Resume section. Responsibilities Internal Operations Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Athletics Internal Operations Office. Participates in the workflow process as the primary approver of various financial documents as well as coordinates the continual improvement of efficiencies throughout the entire Athletics Business Office (ABO). Assists the Associate AD for Internal Operations with the overall vision for the ABO. This position has the authority to make financial decisions in the absence of the Associate AD for Internal Operations. Supervision over the Assistant Manager and Business Coordinator II positions to ensure essential financial duties are completed for business operations. Athletics Camp Coordination Oversees camp financials acting as the liaison to University Youth Programs for all camp registrations, educating all camp directors in building and maintaining camps, processing of camp registrations, deposits, and refunds, reconciling camp accounts with FAMIS and CYMA, and creating camp financial reports for all camps in finalizing the camp season. Acts as the camp human resource liaison following up with HR on hiring status, background checks, and training for all camp workers, addresses any payroll and payment issues with camp counselors, updates the Athletics Camp Counselor Handbook, and approves the final camp payouts for all staff by verifying all HR requirements are met. Athletics representative with the Office of Risk, Ethics, and Compliance’s University Youth Programs involved in upholding all policies and procedures specific to the Campus Programs for Minors. Financial Reporting and Reconciliations Reconciles special event settlements and tax reporting requirements. Assists the Associate AD for Internal Operations in compiling financial data required to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Education as required by the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA). Assists in the compilation of financial data required to be submitted to the NCAA and completion of the NCAA Agreed Upon Procedures. Reviews and approvals deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and in-kind gifts to associate revenue and expenses with the proper fiscal year. Budget Assists the Associate AD for Internal Operations in budget development, management, and mitigation. Analytical Projects and Expense Tracking Oversee analytical projects for the athletics department as needed by the Associate AD for Internal Operations or another executive administrator. Compliance Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, SEC, and University rules and regulations. Qualifications Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years’ athletics administration experience with higher-ed public or private financial experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher in a business-related field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations. Knowledge of Texas A&M System policies and procedures. Strong interpersonal communications skills. Ability to gather and interpret data. Cash and accrual basis accounting skills. Strong customer service/relations skills. Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
