About the Role
Tampa Maid Foods is seeking a Sr. Manager/ Director of Maintenance to lead capital projects, support new product launches, and oversee the Maintenance and Refrigeration functions within our manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, facility performance, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance while serving as a key partner in supporting operational efficiency and future growth.
This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong food manufacturing experience, a solid engineering and maintenance foundation, and the ability to lead teams, manage projects, and improve plant performance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Supervisors and team members across Maintenance and Refrigeration
- Oversee the capital project program, including equipment installations, facility upgrades, expansions, and new product launches
- Support the execution of maintenance and reliability strategies across the facility
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement
- Develop and mentor team members while building overall department capability
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements, including PSM, HAZMAT, LOTO, OSHA, GMP, and food safety standards
- Implement and maintain engineering processes related to risk management, design control, and change management
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production and facility equipment
- Ensure timely response and resolution to equipment failures and facility issues to minimize downtime
- Manage department budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or compliance
- Participate in internal and external audits and maintain readiness for regulatory and customer requirements
- Provide regular project updates to key stakeholders to ensure alignment, prioritization, and execution
- Develop layouts and concept drawings using AutoCAD to support project planning and execution
- Support compliance with equipment and facility standards under applicable FDA and food manufacturing requirements

Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in food processing or food manufacturing, including leadership experience within maintenance and engineering environments
- Strong project management experience, including projects ranging from low/no cost improvements to capital projects up to $2 million
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing operations, equipment, and maintenance systems
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs and CMMS platforms
- Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and world-class manufacturing principles
- Experience with BOM, HACCP, GMPs, food safety, regulatory compliance, and change management practices
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Strong troubleshooting ability across maintenance systems, including PLCs, high-speed packaging equipment, and electrical/electronic systems
- Ability to lead supervisors, mechanics, leads, planners, stockroom, refrigeration, utilities, and plant maintenance teams
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
