Position Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) – Women’s Health to join our care team. This role supports both clinical and administrative functions within our Women’s Health department, assisting providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting.
Essential Responsibilities
- Document patient information accurately and timely in the EHR
- Complete intake for new and returning patients
- Prepare patients and assist providers during women’s health exams
- Set up and assist with procedures including pelvic exams, Pap smears, IUDs, Nexplanon, and biopsies
- Administer vaccines and perform screening procedures
- Draw blood and complete standing orders safely and accurately
- Participate in daily huddles and support care team coordination
- Schedule follow-up appointments and support patient flow
- Address barriers to care and support treatment compliance
- Clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
- Coordinate with labs and external partners as needed
- Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited school with a Medical Assistant Certification
- Current BLS certification
Experience
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a Women’s Health or OB/GYN setting
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and women’s health procedures
- Proficient in EHR systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organization
