What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rolling Rays position at Tampa Bay Rays?
The Tampa Bay Rays are seeking energetic team players for the wheelchair transport team during the 2026 season. We are looking for outgoing, professional, reliable, and conscientious individuals to round out our part-time Wheelchair Transport Team, the Rolling Rays. Employees would be needed for help on gamedays and event dates during the regular season, including evenings and weekends.
Qualified individuals will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Assist guests with our complimentary service by pushing wheelchairs throughout the stadium.
- Escort guests to and from their seats pregame and postgame.
- Assist and be a resource to all fans throughout Tropicana Field.
- Have knowledge of the ballpark and ADA policies to ensure guest safety.
- Assist with various tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work the entire event, including post-game activities.
- Must work a minimum of 35games per season.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fans, coworkers, supervisors and management team.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Must be able to push individuals in wheelchairs designed to accommodate up to 600 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Familiarity with radio etiquette or a willingness to learn.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions including heat, rain, etc.
- Able to work in a high activity and heavily crowded professional sports venue.
- Flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime.
