About the Role
We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our growing family office in Utah County. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting functions for multiple entities, including wholly owned companies of the family office as well as portfolio companies. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, reliable, and excited to help support a diverse group of businesses.
This is a roll-up-your-sleeves role: daily bank feed categorizations, bank reconciliations, monthly journal entries (with controller support), bill entry and payment, AR invoicing and reporting, and other accounting support for office leadership. If you enjoy variety and like working directly with owners, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Core Bookkeeping/Accounting Work
- Help support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for multiple entities
- Enter journal entries under controller direction (accruals, depreciation, amortization, etc.)
- Manage bank ledgers, credit card, and help manage intercompany reconciliations
- Help maintain a clean and consistent chart of accounts
- Support cash management and basic cash flow forecasting
Compliance & Process
- Support sales tax filings and other required compliance tasks (where applicable)
- Follow and help tighten internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Assist with year-end reviews/audits as needed
Working Across Entities & Industries
- Handle bookkeeping/accounting for a mix of entities, including:
- Real estate holdings
- Manufacturing and e‑commerce businesses
- Other operating and investment entities
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Work primarily in QuickBooks Online
- Use Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) for reporting and analysis
- Identify inefficiencies and suggest better ways to do things—your ideas will be heard
Trust & Communication
- Handle sensitive financial and personal information with complete confidentiality
- Communicate clearly, ask good questions, and follow through on commitments
- Take direction well, but also be comfortable proactively flagging issues and proposing solutions
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves
- Associates degree in Accounting or closely related field with 2 years of experience OR no degree, but 5 years of progressive experience in bookkeeping/accounting
- Solid experience with:
o Monthly close processes and reconciliations
o Journal entries as required
o Managing multiple entities
- Strong proficiency with:
o QuickBooks Online
o Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
o Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work on-site in Utah County, 5 days per week
- Strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a high sense of ownership
- Commitment to strict confidentiality of all financial and personal information
- Genuine interest in helping grow the family office and its portfolio companies
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with:
o Real estate
o Sales tax and multi‑state tax
o Manufacturing and inventory
o E‑commerce (payment processors, platforms, fees)
o Banking / financial services environments
o Exposure to ERP systems (day-to-day use)
