What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Transporter position at Tamarack Health?
The Clinical Laboratory Runner assists laboratory technicians in the transport of samples from the various sites within the organization. Additional duties include clerical functions in the laboratory department and helping to maintain inventory in the main laboratory and patient exam rooms.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Transports samples from the Primary and Specialty Clinic to the Main lab in the hospital for processing.
- Assist with transporting patients from the draw area to their exam room or waiting area.
- Work with the laboratory Director and Technicians on maintaining inventory in the lab.
- Work with the Family Medicine Staff to maintain lab inventory in patient exam rooms.
- Assist with patient scheduling for their lab appointments.
- Answer the phone in a way that recognizes excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- High school student of a working age, or high school graduate, or equivalent preferred.
