What are the responsibilities and job description for the JIB Accountant position at Talos Energy?
DESCRIPTION:
The JIB Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s joint interest billing accounting functions and ensures that expenditures are recorded within the framework of Talos Energy Inc.’s policies and procedures in compliance of applicable regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly JIB entries
- Process owner corrections
- Provide allocation schedules for the land department
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and analysis
- Prepare manual AR invoices
- Assist with owner inquires and dispute resolution
- Assist in reviewing, coding, and processing outside operated invoices
- Prepare reports and analysis as needed
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with internal staff and outside operators
- Assist Department with other daily/monthly tasks as needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 0-3 years of experience in the accounting/finance or oil and gas industry
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- High school diploma
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Eager to learn, self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office, and Word
- Flexible with changing priorities
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team structure

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
