Talon Hiring Solutions has a client in the Greater Birmingham, AL area that is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support & Operations Specialist to manage and support there day-to-day technical environment. This role is responsible for ensuring employees remain connected and productive by resolving technical issues, maintaining hardware, and coordinating with external vendors.
What you will do:
- Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity issues to minimize downtime
- Resolve user access issues including logins, password resets, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Image, configure, and deploy laptops (Windows/macOS), mobile devices, and peripherals
- Own and manage the full lifecycle of support tickets
- Prioritize incoming requests based on urgency and business impact
- Develop and maintain internal knowledge base documentation to improve efficiency
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ISPs, hardware vendors, and third-party providers
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and escalate issues as needed
- Assist with procurement of IT equipment and services
What you will bring:
- 2–4 years of experience in IT support or IT operations
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and cloud-based identity platforms (e.g., Okta, Azure AD)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users
- CompTIA A , Network , or similar preferred
- Cisco (CCNA), Microsoft 365, or other relevant certifications
