About the Role
The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining efficient production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and manufacturing capacity. This role plays a key part in supply chain and operations, requiring close coordination with manufacturing, warehousing, sales, and procurement teams to ensure timely production and delivery of finished goods. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage daily and weekly production schedules for a high-volume manufacturing operation
- Adjust schedules in real-time in response to production issues, material shortages, or staffing changes
- Monitor production processes to proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks
- Analyze capacity and demand data to inform planning decisions and optimize resource allocation
- Communicate production plans, changes, and performance metrics to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with operations, warehouse, and procurement teams to ensure material availability
- Coordinate inbound and outbound order logistics at the in-house warehouse
- Monitor and maintain finished goods inventory levels to meet service level targets
- Analyze MRP demand signals and adjust production plans accordingly
- Develop run strategies to reduce planned downtime and increase throughput
- Work with sales and contract teams to align production with customer demand
- Identify and mitigate supply constraints, maintaining a log of critical issues and corrective actions
- Review and update item master data such as safety stock levels and production frequency
- Conduct root cause analysis on production or supply chain issues and implement corrective actions
- Generate production performance reports and forecasts to support decision-making
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production planning environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably IQMS or similar platforms
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Understanding of inventory control principles and manufacturing workflows
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field
- Experience with production scheduling, demand planning, or materials management
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of quality and safety standards in a manufacturing setting
- Flexibility to work varied hours to support continuous operations

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
