Project Controller
A Taleo client is looking to hire a Project Controller to support program and project controls across a portfolio of capital projects. This team is focused on delivering centralized programs and services that support safety and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Program Services Manager, this role is responsible for managing project financials end-to-end, including cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, and overall budget oversight.
What you’ll be doing
- Track and manage project costs across work orders, purchase orders, and invoices
- Handle purchase requisitions and invoice attestation
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, and actuals, resolving discrepancies as they come up
- Support Project Managers with financial reporting and analysis for estimating, contractor selection, and project execution
- Prepare detailed project and program cost reports
- Perform final cost reconciliation at project close
- Analyze cost data and project progress to identify trends and forecast future spend
- Share insights with project teams and leadership through reporting and discussions
- Identify opportunities to improve forecasting and cost control processes and capture lessons learned
- Own full-cycle project controller responsibilities from initiation through to close
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and vendors
What you bring
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field
- 5 years of experience in project cost control, ideally within capital projects
- Strong understanding of cost control concepts and practices
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial data
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams and leadership
- Comfortable learning new tools and processes in a project environment
- Team-oriented and collaborative
