Project Manager – Commercial Roofing & Sheet Metal
NW Illinois / Chicago Area
$90,000 – $110,000 Vehicle/Allowance Benefits
A well-established commercial roofing contractor in the NW Indiana / Chicago market is looking to add a Project Manager to their team due to a strong and growing backlog of work.
This is not a replacement hire—the team is busy, projects are active, and they need another solid, dependable PM to help carry the load.
The Role
This is a true cradle-to-grave Project Manager position where you’ll take full ownership of your projects from handoff through closeout.
You’ll be managing a portfolio of 8–10 active jobs at a time, working directly with clients, field teams, and internal operations.
- Lead projects from preconstruction through completion
- Run weekly jobsite meetings and maintain client relationships
- Manage schedules, budgets, and overall project execution
- Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation
- Coordinate closely with superintendents, crews, and subcontractors
- Ensure quality, safety, and production targets are met
Project Profile
- 85% New Construction / 15% Re-roof & Service
- Typical project size: $350K – $500K
- Strong sheet metal scope on most projects
- Local work – within ~40 miles (NW Indiana / Chicago)
- Stable pipeline with consistent backlog
What They’re Looking For
- Experience managing commercial roofing projects
- Comfortable operating in a union environment
- Hands-on, organized, and accountable
- Strong communication skills—client-facing and team-oriented
- Proficiency with Procore, Dataforma, or similar systems
- Someone easy to work with who can integrate into a tight-knit team
