Contract Sales Representative

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Sales Representative to support and expand their presence within the construction and building materials market. This role is heavily focused on new business development and distribution channel growth, with approximately 90% of activity centered on lead generation and establishing relationships with new distribution partners.
The successful candidate will actively engage with contractors, distributors, builders, and industry professionals to drive demand and develop long-term relationships within the territory.
This position is designed as a career launching platform within the organization, with a strong track record of internal promotions typically occurring within approximately two years. Candidates must therefore be open to relocation for future advancement opportunities, as promotion territories cannot be guaranteed within a specific geographic region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand relationships with distribution partners throughout the assigned territory.
- Identify and pursue new distribution opportunities, generating the majority of leads through proactive outreach and market development.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, builders, remodelers, and architects to drive product demand through distribution channels.
- Conduct product presentations and training sessions for distributors and end users.
- Develop and execute a territory sales strategy to meet revenue and growth targets.
- Provide market intelligence and competitor insights through regular reporting.
- Manage distributor relationships including pricing discussions and competitive positioning.
- Support customers through product education, problem solving, and ongoing account management.
- Utilize approved sales and marketing tools to support business development efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience within the construction or building materials industry
- Fully fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
- Proven ability to generate new business and build relationships with distribution partners
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a territory-based role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard CRM tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory
Travel Requirements
- Up to 80% travel within the assigned territory
