Senior Procurement Manager

Job Scope
The Senior Procurement Manage is responsible for leading a
centralized purchasing organization supporting multiple product and program
teams. This role manages a team of buyers and subject matter experts
specializing in consumables, castings, extrusions, raw metals, and complex
machined components. The position drives the development and execution of
long-term supplier agreements, ensuring robust negotiations, supply continuity,
cost competitiveness, and regulatory compliance.
The centralized procurement function supports decentralized product
performance teams by providing sourcing strategy, supplier management,
estimating, risk mitigation, and execution through delivery. This role requires
deep experience in aerospace or defense procurement, strong leadership
capability, and the ability to independently resolve complex, high-impact
issues while managing team performance through defined KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain procurement processes compliant with DCMA,
FAR, DFARS, and CPSR requirements
• Identify critical suppliers and implement long-term agreements
where appropriate
• Lead complex negotiations to achieve best-value outcomes
• Drive continuous improvement in policies, procedures, and work
instructions
• Improve purchase request flow, cycle time, and predictability
• Oversee supplier onboarding, risk assessment, mitigation, and
continuous improvement
• Achieve cost reduction and cost avoidance objectives
• Manage supplier performance, escalation, and issue resolution
• Lead and develop buyers and subcontract specialists using
performance metrics and KPIs
• Balance workload distribution and manage procurement backlog to
established targets
Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience, including 5
years managing procurement teams; or advanced degree with reduced experience
requirements
• Aerospace or defense purchasing experience required
• Strong SAP experience
• Expertise in complex machining, blueprint interpretation, and
manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated success in contract negotiations and cost savings
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop KPIs, and drive performance
• FAR/DFARS knowledge required

• Fast-paced office with periodic exposure to production or
warehouse settings
