Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in sunny San Diego, CA (South County)!
This is an on-site position with the fantastic perk of every other Friday off!

Position Summary:
Are you ready to be at the forefront of advanced manufacturing? You'll be
responsible for transforming engineering visions into reality by reviewing
complex drawings, CAD models, and specifications. You'll plan how products get
built, determine necessary tooling, and integrate technical composite and
hardware knowledge. Your expertise will guide the manufacturing, rework, or
repair of composite and sheet metal aircraft components and assemblies through
our ERP system and supporting software. This is a pre-preg shop, focusing on
cutting-edge composite manufacturing.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the way: Serve as a project manager,
ensuring contract requirements, specifications, design criteria, and
schedules are seamlessly integrated and maintained.
- Craft the instructions: Document clear and precise
manufacturing instructions for the fabrication, machining, inspection,
assembly, and paint of composites and metal components. You'll be adept at
writing strong technical work instructions.
- Build the foundation: Construct Item Masters
(IM's) and Bill-of-Materials (BoMs) in our ERP software.
- Empower the supply chain: Develop IPD and XOP
drawings to assist manufacturing and supply chain in procuring parts and
services. Generate instructions for rework or repair of non-conforming
materials.
- Be the expert: Provide critical support
with engineering clarification and interpretation.
- Drive continuous improvement: Implement redlines to
manufacturing plans for correction or clarification.
- Innovate solutions: Develop and implement
technical solutions for Laminate/Sandwich Composite and Metal Bond
processing through lay-up, curing, machining, assembly, and finishing.
This includes deep knowledge of pre-preg material, honeycomb cores, metal
bonding, and tooling.
- Shape the future: Generate CAD geometry for
CAM programming and tooling. You must have strong CAD experience, capable
of creating simple 2D or possibly 3D drawings.
- Ensure quality: Generate and coordinate
Non-Destructive Test (NDT) reference standard manufacturing plans and
technique sheets.
- Collaborate for success: Coordinate and communicate
with customer or supplier engineering to resolve technical questions or
issues.
- Validate excellence: Participate in First Part
Qualification activities related to composite and metal bond parts.
- Optimize operations: Coordinate to provide
technical guidance for continuous improvement activities to enhance
quality, cost, and schedule.
- Work on diverse aircraft parts: This role involves working
on a variety of aircraft components including panels, doors, windows, air
tips, air ducts, and skins for aircraft.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace
Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials
Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of
experience with leading manufacturing specifications, techniques, and
processes for aircraft components, specifically composite
fabrication/engineering (including pre-preg material, honeycomb cores,
metal bonding, and experience with tooling).
- Strong understanding of composite
materials and processes is essential.
- Experience in Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) systems (SAP or Net Suite strongly preferred).
- Must have strong CAD experience, including proficiency with
CATIA V or SolidWorks CAD & PLM systems.
- Composite and manufacturing
experience is a must.
- Highly organized with the ability
to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A problem-solver who can navigate
complex challenges and make sound judgments based on diverse information.
- Exceptional interpersonal,
written, and verbal communication skills to drive projects to completion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Prior aircraft and/or Boeing
expertise is preferred but not required.
- Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus!

Compensation:
Your expertise is valued! The compensation range for this position falls within $110,000 and $130,000, with some flexibility. The final compensation
will be determined based on your experience, skillset, and other factors
permitted by law.
