Position Overview
The Lead, HRIS (Workday PATT) is a strategic and technical leader responsible for managing the organization’s Workday ecosystem. This role oversees a small HRIS team and ensures Workday drives efficiency, accuracy, and exceptional employee experiences. Acting as both a hands-on configuration expert and trusted business partner, the Practice Lead aligns HR technology initiatives with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop 1–3 HRIS team members, promoting accountability and growth.
- Serve as the Workday consultant partner: manage roadmap, prioritization, governance, and stakeholder expectations.
- Establish governance frameworks, change management standards, and QA processes.
- Lead configuration for Workday Payroll, Absences, Time Tracking, Benefits, Core & Advanced Compensation.
- Design business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, EIBs, security setup, and reporting.
- Ensure system architecture supports scalability, compliance, security, and performance.
- Translate complex business needs into technical solutions from discovery to deployment and post-launch support.
- Monitor Workday releases; evaluate new features, including automation and AI-driven insights.
- Maintain data integrity through audits, controls, and governance.
- Develop dashboards and analytics to support data-driven HR decisions.
- Serve as escalation point for complex system issues; provide sustainable solutions.
- Oversee functional and technical projects, including enhancements, integrations, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Coach team members on technical design, documentation, and service delivery.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7 years progressive HRIS experience, including 5 years hands-on Workday PATT configuration.
- 3 years managing direct reports.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and payroll for 5,000 employees.
- Strong knowledge of HR and payroll processes, data governance, and digital transformation.
