Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of IT Deskside Support or End User Computing experience.
- Experience supporting OT/ICS (Operational Technology/Industrial Control Systems) environments.
- Strong understanding of IT/OT separation principles and industrial cybersecurity.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with:
- SCCM / MDT
- SolarWinds
- Meraki
- Active Directory
- Network troubleshooting
- Server support
- Hardware imaging and deployments
- Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A Certification
- CompTIA Network Certification
- Experience supporting manufacturing, refinery, chemical plant, or industrial facilities.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Deskside Support / Smarthands Technician to provide onsite Level 2 end-user support and Level 3 Smarthands support in an industrial manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting OT/ICS (Operational Technology/Industrial Control Systems) environments along with enterprise desktop, network, and server infrastructure.
This position will support users at either the Port Arthur, TX or Orange, TX site. Candidates should be available to report onsite as needed. Travel between sites is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite Level 2 desktop support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues.
- Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities, device imaging, deployments, upgrades, and break/fix support.
- Coordinate with remote support teams, Service Desk, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Provide Smart Hands support for network, server, storage, and infrastructure equipment.
- Support audio/video conferencing systems and meeting room technologies.
- Install and replace hardware components and maintain accurate asset inventory.
- Perform Windows 10/11 imaging, deployments, upgrades, and migrations.
- Apply security patches, monitor backups, and perform basic server and network troubleshooting.
- Maintain CMDB/asset records and document infrastructure changes.
- Support Active Directory tasks, hardware lifecycle management, and infrastructure moves.
- Follow all site safety, security, and change management procedures.
Work Environment
- Onsite role supporting a chemical plant environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform equipment installations.
- Must be comfortable working in industrial environments while following all safety protocols.
