Responsibilities:
- Lead complex, multi-team technical programs from strategy and planning through successful delivery.
- Translate ambiguous initiatives into actionable plans with defined milestones, ownership, dependencies, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Coordinate Engineering, Product, Design, Infrastructure, Security, QA, Operations, external partners, and executive stakeholders.
- Develop sufficient architecture and systems fluency to identify technical gaps, constraints, dependencies, and execution risks.
- Partner with Engineering and Product leadership on quarterly, annual, roadmap, portfolio, and capacity planning.
- Balance scope, timelines, quality, technical considerations, resources, and business priorities while managing trade-offs.
- Establish scalable governance frameworks, operating rhythms, delivery standards, and execution practices that improve predictability.
- Provide transparent executive communication, data-driven recommendations, risk mitigation plans, and actionable escalation support.
Must-Have Skills:
- 12 years of experience leading large-scale technical programs within software engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex initiatives involving multiple engineering teams, technical dependencies, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of software systems, architecture, the software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and engineering execution.
- Ability to understand architectural discussions, ask informed technical questions, identify gaps, and assess delivery risks.
- Experience partnering with senior Engineering, Architecture, Product, and executive leaders on strategic initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence teams, create accountability, and drive execution without direct organizational authority.
- Strong systems thinking, prioritization, dependency management, risk management, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, conflict resolution, relationship-building, and executive communication skills.
- Strong analytical and data-driven approach to program health, delivery metrics, KPIs, and decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience as a software engineer or in another deeply technical engineering role.
- Experience with cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, platform modernization, or architecture transformation.
- Background partnering across Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, QA, and Operations organizations.
- Experience with AI-driven initiatives, AI-powered planning, engineering analytics, or emerging technologies.
- Experience in travel technology, online travel, marketplaces, lodging, hospitality, consumer technology, or other high-scale platforms.
- Expert-level proficiency with Jira and Confluence, including workflow optimization and adoption best practices.
- Experience defining engineering delivery metrics, organizational KPIs, governance models, and operating rhythms.
- Experience establishing or maturing a Technical Program Management function within an engineering organization.
