A growing real estate services firm specializing in third-party multifamily property management is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale its operations. This organization partners with ownership groups to manage and improve the performance of multifamily assets, particularly those requiring operational discipline and hands-on execution.

Overview:
The COO will oversee all operational functions across property management, maintenance, and centralized services, while driving performance, standardization, and scalability. Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations across property management, maintenance, and centralized service teams
- Coach and develop department leaders (VP, Directors), fostering accountability and performance
- Build scalable processes, KPIs, and reporting infrastructure
- Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and margin improvement initiatives
- Partner with ownership clients and internal stakeholders to improve asset performance
- Establish clear accountability frameworks and performance expectations
- Improve cross-functional alignment across teams
- Implement data-driven decision-making through reporting and analytics
- Optimize organizational structure and team efficiency
- Support systems and technology improvements across operations
- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive company growth and explore new business opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the organization.
Must-Have Requirements:
- 10 years of leadership experience in operations
- Experience scaling companies, implementing process-driven environments, and building a healthy work culture of accountability
- Experience with change management and process improvement.
- Strong understanding of property management or similar operational industries
- Proven ability to lead leaders and drive accountability
- Data-driven mindset; highly comfortable using metrics, dashboards, and spreadsheets
- Strong executor — results-focused with a “get it done” mindset
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in business administration, real estate, or related field.
- Familiarity with real estate management software platforms.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and compliance (or adjacent exposure)
- Knowledge of emerging trends in sustainable property management.
