About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team on a contract basis at Cape Canaveral. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical expertise, including industrial and commercial electrical systems, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex electrical projects in a dynamic construction environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. The successful applicant will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems while adhering to strict safety procedures and technical specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on launch pad electrical systems, power distribution equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-voltage and mission-critical electrical systems.
- Assist with electrical checkouts and testing during launch preparations.
- Support the integration of ground fluid systems and electrical infrastructure.
- Perform infrastructure recovery, repairs, and upgrades following testing or launch activities.
- Serve as the technical interface with outside contractors and vendors for electrical, fire alarm, HVAC, and security systems.
- Coordinate repairs, inspections, and project execution while ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
- Source replacement materials and electrical components.
- Maintain shop safety standards and organized work areas.
- Coordinate equipment mobilization, heavy lift operations, and support site logistics.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of relevant industrial hands-on experience working in launch pads, test stands, high-hazard industrial facilities, and large-scale industrial electrical systems.
- Active Journeyman Electrician License.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Knowledge of UL 508A standards.
- Familiarity with hazardous location classifications.
- Experience with industrial power distribution systems.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Proficiency operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and telescopic boom lifts.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in high-hazard industrial environments.
- Ability to work in demanding, high-risk environments while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Pay range and compensation package
Pay: $35.00/hour $875 Weekly Per Diem. Time and a half after 40 hours. ($3,500/month per diem) totaling $4,585/week when you work 7 days and $3,955/week when you work 6 days a week.
