Position Overview
The MRI Technologist will perform high-quality MRI imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and department protocols. This role requires technical expertise, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively with both adult and pediatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Analyze patient histories and perform thorough pre-screenings, including pacemaker and metal-related safety checks
- Prepare and administer contrast dyes as ordered
- Address patient concerns and maintain a calm, reassuring environment during scans
- Position patients and perform MRI scans based on physician specifications
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance or repairs
- Ensure MRI rooms remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Train and support junior MRI technologists and new staff
- Complete accurate reports and escalate issues when necessary
- Participate in quality assurance procedures and implement process improvements
- ARRT certification (MRI) required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent MRI experience
- Pediatric MRI experience required
- Strong technical skills and understanding of MRI safety protocols
- Excellent communication and patient-care abilities
