Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care to patients during labor and delivery.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, promptly responding to changes and emergencies.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure infection control throughout procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and update care plans.
- Document all interventions accurately in electronic health records.
- Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory standards, including safety protocols.
- Provide timely triage and prioritize cases based on urgency and outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postnatal care.
- Demonstrate initiative in professional development and pursue certifications as applicable.
- Identify and address potential risks using evidence-based practices and pipelines.
- Support postnatal recovery, lactation support, and discharge planning.
- Maintain high visibility of work activities through accurate progress updates and reports.
- BSN with current RN license and OB nursing certification (CNOR preferred).
- Proven ob-gyn/OB nursing experience in labor, delivery, and postnatal care.
- Ability to monitor maternal/fetal status and respond to emergencies with protocols.
- Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards.
- Accurate documentation in electronic health records and progress reporting.
- Strong triage skills to prioritize cases based on urgency and outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and update care plans.
- Patient and family education on labor, delivery, lactation, and postnatal care.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and pursuit of certifications.
- Identify and address risks using evidence-based practices; participate in quality improvement.
- On-site role based in Hanford, CA — collaborate in person with your team at our local facility
