Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
- Two years of acute care experience: Preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification: Preferred
- Infection Control Certification: Preferred
- Public Health Nursing Credential: Preferred
- Conduct surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
- Develop, review, and update infection prevention policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Monitor infection trends, identify risk factors, and implement infection prevention and control strategies.
- Investigate and report infection outbreaks and support corrective actions.
- Perform infection prevention rounds and provide education and recommendations to healthcare personnel.
- Coordinate infection prevention orientation and ongoing education for new and existing staff.
- Participate in infection control committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance monitoring activities.
- Plan and deliver employee education on infection prevention, exposure control, and workplace safety.
- Conduct employee health screenings, immunization reviews, and health assessments.
- Perform initial assessments of employee work-related injuries and illnesses and coordinate Workers' Compensation reporting and follow-up.
- Monitor employee exposure to communicable diseases and maintain employee health records.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and clinical departments to support employee health and regulatory compliance.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
