Provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients with complex cardiovascular conditions in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Monitors hemodynamic status, manages advanced therapies, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective patient care.
Education & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Previous CVICU, ICU, or cardiovascular nursing experience (Preferred)
- Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification (Preferred)
- Performs comprehensive assessments and continuously monitors critically ill cardiovascular patients.
- Monitors hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other critical care parameters.
- Administers medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other treatments as ordered.
- Manages and monitors ventilators, drains, lines, and other critical care equipment.
- Recognizes and responds promptly to cardiac emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Collaborates with physicians, surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provides patient and family education and maintains accurate clinical documentation.
