Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients during night shifts.
- Monitor patient vitals, assess changes, and respond per hospital protocol.
- Administer medications and treatments with accurate documentation and safety checks.
- Identify and escalate clinical concerns promptly to ensure patient safety.
- Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary team and communicate updates clearly.
- Document care plans, procedures, and outcomes in electronic health records.
- Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a sterile, safe work environment.
- Demonstrate accountability for personal workload and meet unit target metrics.
- Utilize data and metrics to monitor personal performance and patient outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to illness and treatment plan.
- Support professional development through ongoing learning and certification opportunities.
- Maintain readiness for on-site shifts with reliable attendance and shift punctuality.
- Active RN license in the state of employment with no sanctions.
- 2 years in Med-Surg or Telemetry, with night-shift experience preferred.
- Proficient with electronic health records and accurate documentation.
- Vital signs monitoring, escalating changes per protocol within minutes.
- Medication administration with verification and safety checks per hospital protocol.
- CPR/BLS certification current at time of hire.
- Infection control adherence and sterile technique in all procedures.
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining teamwork and clear communication.
- Strong patient and family education, tailored to illness and treatment.
- Reliability for on-site night shifts with punctual attendance.
