Education & Experience
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program: Required
- Prior pharmacy practice experience: Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders and prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness and safety.
- Evaluate therapy for dosing, allergies, interactions, duplications and contraindications.
- Dispense medications in compliance with state and federal law and professional standards.
- Consult with prescribers and other clinicians to resolve therapy-related concerns.
- Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, storage and adherence.
- Oversee pharmacy technicians and support inventory, controlled substance and record-keeping requirements.
