Responsibilities
- Provide direct ICU nursing care to critically ill patients in a timely, evidence-based manner.
- Monitor patient status and escalate changes to the care team promptly.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders and hospital protocol.
- Lead or participate in rapid response and code events with composure and clarity.
- Document all clinical assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards to minimize risk.
- Utilize performance metrics and patient flow data to prioritize interventions and optimize bed utilization.
- Participate in continuous professional development and demonstrate growth toward advanced competencies.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, expectations, and post-discharge needs.
- Document and share best practices to contribute to unit-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Active RN license with ICU or Critical Care specialization.
- Minimum 2–3 years ICU/critical care nursing experience.
- BLS/ACLS certification with code/rapid response experience.
- Ability to lead rapid response events and manage high-acuity patients.
- Proficiency in EMR documentation and accurate charting.
- Strong infection control and patient safety adherence.
- Willingness to participate in performance metrics and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated teamwork with physicians, nurses, and support staff.
- Excellent communication with patients and families about care plans.
- Contract role: on-site, ability to adapt to shift patterns.
