Procurement Specialist
Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI (Onsite)
Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 Base Salary Annual Bonus Potential
Schedule: Monday - Friday
- 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM OR 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
About the Opportunity:
Our client, a growing manufacturing organization in the plastics industry, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing, inventory management, and raw material planning activities. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials required to support production while maintaining inventory levels and supplier performance. This position will work closely with Operations, Inventory Management, Production Leadership, and Procurement leadership to ensure materials are available to meet customer demand and manufacturing schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities for raw materials, resins, plastics, and production-related supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities
- Place purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure on-time material availability
- Work closely with suppliers to manage lead times, delivery schedules, and order status
- Coordinate inbound material shipments, including rail car deliveries and transportation schedules
- Collaborate with production, inventory, and plant leadership to support operational requirements
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data within ERP systems
- Analyze inventory trends and material usage to support planning efforts
- Identify potential supply chain risks and proactively communicate concerns
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement and inventory management
Qualifications Required:
- 3 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience purchasing raw materials, production materials, or manufacturing components
- Strong inventory management and material planning experience
- ERP system experience (Epicor preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred:
- Plastics, resin, polymer, or chemical manufacturing experience
- Experience coordinating rail car transportation and material logistics
- Experience managing overseas suppliers and extended lead-time materials
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive Base Salary: $80,000 - $95,000
